Adding advanced options to the Dynamic Report Builder

New: Column Types in the Dynamic Report Builder

The following new column types give you more control over layout, comparisons and custom calculations in your Dynamic Templates.

Calculation Column

Create custom formulas using values from other columns when you need bespoke calculations—such as differences without favourable/unfavourable logic or ratios like % of Sales.

See the Dynamic Template: Calculation Column article for details.

Group by Date Range

Group multiple columns under a single, fixed reporting period. All columns in the group share the same Date Range, making it easy to present related Actual, Budget or Variance values side by side.

See the Dynamic Template: Group by Date Range article for details.

Repeating Multi-Period

Build a set of columns that automatically repeat across successive reporting periods (monthly, quarterly or yearly). The number and length of periods are controlled by the Report Periods setting.

See the Dynamic Template: Repeating Multi-Period article for details.

Multi-Column Business Unit or Organisation

Create repeating columns for each selected organisation or business unit to produce comparison‑style layouts—such as showing each organisation side by side with a consolidated total.

Improved: Collapsible Report Criteria

All Report Criteria panels in both Dynamic and Pre‑Configured reports are now collapsible, giving you more space to view the report preview.

Improved: KPI Formula Editor

We’ve made a series of usability improvements to the shared formula editor used in both KPI Builder and Calculation columns. These updates resolve issues with spacing, cursor behaviour, auto‑complete positioning, and the insertion or deletion of components—making formula entry more predictable and easier to work with.
