NOTE šŸ’¬ Changing a Template will update the data for every instance the template is being used, these are troubleshooting tips for new Templates that are NOT yet being used in Report Bundles

Troubleshooting tips to resolve a report producing incorrect values

Run the Report

  • Are any of the values correct?

  • Check the settings in the Builder screen

    • Data Source

    • Row Data

    • Display settings

  • Are any of the values correct?

    • Check the Actuals for the date range

    • Check the Budget values for the Budget version and date range

Some values are Correct

  • If one column is reporting correctly and another is not, it is most likely to do with the Column settings within the Template

    • Click Edit Template to review the settings

    • If the Organisation / Business Units / Budget version have been set in the Template column settings, this overrides the criteria in the Builder Screen

    • Try setting these back to the Default setting: Link to report criteria

    • Then you can make the selections in the Builder Screen to update the report and review until you get the correct results

Lock the settings to the Template

  • Once the correct settings have been determined, and you want these to be locked for the Dynamic Template

    • Click EDIT TEMPLATE again

    • Enter the correct selections into the Data Source for EACH Column in the template

    • SAVE and RUN REPORT to confirm all is well

    • From the Builder screen, you may like to SAVE and add to a Report Bundle for future reporting.

TIP šŸ’”Data Source Settings in the Report Builder screen can only contain one option for each setting. To compare different Budget Versions or Report Periods in one Report, you will need to LOCK alternate details in the Template to get the desired results.
