Before we get started with the instructions on transferring ownership it's important to understand there are 2 key user types for a Calxa subscription. The Subscription Owner and Billing Contact. Although in most cases these will be the same user they do have different roles and permissions. In many cases you'll transfer both the ownership and billing contact at the same time however it is possible to transfer one type of control to another user while retaining the other role.

Transfer Ownership

The subscription owner has full access to the subscription data and control over the connected organisations and invited users. This user can access the Admin portal to manage workspaces, organisations and users. The Owner can also invite additional Co-Owners who have a similar level of access to the subscription data.


🔺 In order to transfer ownership you must be the current subscription owner. A Co-owner cannot perform this task.

💬 After transferring ownership your access will be downgraded to Co-Owner. The new owner may wish to remove your access after transfer. See Delete a User for details.


  1. Click here to browse directly to the Admin Portal

    Alternatively when signed into a workspace you can navigate via Settings->Billing & Admin->Manage Organisations.

  2. If you have more then one subscription select the appropriate subscription from the Subscription Dropdown in the orange menu (top left).

  3. Still in the orange menu, from the 3 dots menu select Transfer Ownership.

  4. Select or enter an email address of the user you would like to transfer ownership.

    1. If you are also currently the billing contact you can optionally choose to also transfer billing to this person.

  5. Click Transfer Subscription.

Change Billing Contact

The billing contact has access to the Billing portal and control over editing the subscription details such as the plan, capacity and payment details. This user however does not always have access to the workspace or organisation data.


⚠️ In order to change the billing contact you must be the current billing contact.


  1. Click here to browse directly to the Billing Portal.

    Alternatively when signed into a workspace you can navigate via Settings->Billing & Admin->Billing.

  2. Identify the subscription you wish to change the billing contact on. From the 3 dots menu on the subscription, select Change Billing Contact.

  3. Select or enter an email address of the user you would like to make the billing contact.

    1. If you are also currently the Subscription Owner, you can optionally choose to also transfer ownership to this person.

  4. Click Transfer Subscription.
