How do I configure and troubleshoot Metrics Reports in Calxa?

Reports in Calxa allow users to include both actuals and budget metrics as part of their financial reporting. Proper configuration of these reports is essential for accurate data visualization and to avoid issues such as metrics displaying zero values. Below is a guide to help you configure Reports and troubleshoot common problems.

Including Metric values in Calxa Reports

To include metrics in a report, choose one of these options and follow the steps:

Add Metrics to an Account Tree:

  1. Open the account tree in Calxa.

  2. Click ADD to include the desired metric by adding it to the structure of the account tree.

Configure in the Report Builder:

  1. Access the Report Builder

  2. Select the Template you wish to use

  3. Toggle on to Show KPIs (and Metrics)

  4. Select the desired metrics to display in your report template.

Common Issues and Troubleshooting

Issue: Metrics Showing as Zero Values

If metrics (actuals or budgets) are appearing as zero for all months in your report, even though data has been entered, follow these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check Business Unit Selection: - Ensure the report is filtering by the appropriate Business Unit / Tree. - Metrics must be recorded to the same Business Unit used in the report. For example, if your report is configured to filter by a specific Business Unit structure, ensure that the recorded metrics match this structure.

  2. Check Metrics Recording Level: - If metrics are recorded against the organisation level or another Business Unit type that differs from the one used in the report, they will not be shown. Generate the report using the correct Business Unit tree to resolve this issue.

  3. Check that Metrics have been recorded for the Report Period: - Metrics need to be recorded at both the Budget and Actual level for each Business Unit reported.

Key Notes on Business Unit Trees

Understanding which Business Unit tree is being utilized in your report, and the Business Units that it refers to, is crucial for accurate results.
