The Consolidation Rate in Calxa allows you to apply a simple conversion rate to a single organisation when consolidating multiple organisations. Please see the help note Consolidate Multiple Organisations for more details.
You may want to use the Consolidation rate for one of the following reasons:
- Consolidate Multiple Organisations with different Currencies
- Consolidate Multiple Organisations with Partial Ownership
Consolidate Multiple Organisations with different Currencies
Let’s look at an example where we consolidate three files with AUD, NZD, and USD currencies together, assuming we want reports to be consolidated as AUD.
In this example we will use the following conversion rates:
- 1.04 NZD = 1.00 AUD
- 0.69 USD = 1.00 AUD
Therefore with hose conversion rates we'll use the following Consolidation Rates for each organisation in Calxa.
- AUD Organisation = 1.00
- NZD Organisation = 1.04
- USD Organisation = 0.69
Consolidate Multiple Organisations with Partial Ownership
If you are consolidating multiple companies where some members of the group are partially owned, set the Consolidation Rate for each company to the percentage owned. This will allow you to report a consolidated view reflecting the total equity of the group of companies selected.
For example, let’s assume we want to consolidate 3 companies, with 30%, 50%, and 100% ownership levels respectively.
Therefore we would set the Consolidation Rates for each organisation in Calxa.
Notes the percentages are noted as a decimal number only (eg. 30% = 0.30).
